Several years ago I read a proverb, “Buy the truth, and sell it not.” And I thought about my journey pursuing truth. I thought of the time, the money, the effort, and the tears that had accompanied my pursuit of truth for my life. And I pondered…what is “that” worth to me? Is there a price I can place on that truth? Is there something I value so highly that I would sell the truth that I had worked to attain?
As we look back at history we see examples of men, women, societies that sold their truths. We make statements that we would never give up our fellow man to a gas chamber because of their race or religion. It is easy to say, but in this time of economic upheaval have you considered the price you place on your truth?
